Please help identify object, looks like a silver button but back looks too intricate.

I’d say it’s a button. You can clearly see where the attachment would have been on the back. It also looks as if it’s silver on copper or some other metal.
It’s obviously old, maybe early Victorian so the design on the back wouldn’t be over fussy for that time period.
Poor thing has seen some rough treatment. It would have been lovely when new. Well found.
