Went out to the field earlier, third signal was a belter, didn't expect anything special, turned the clod over and saw the glint of gold , then it disappeared, was on my knees looking for it in microseconds  Grin Any detector would have found this one , couple of inches down and a great signal, dunno how I haven't found it before, as everyone says you gotta walk over it to find it. Another first for me! Couple of minor scratches and a ding on the edge above the head but amazing condition for having been ploughed around numerous times.

(it's a viccy half-sovereign 1876)

Well done Hedgehog you amaze me, some good finds you have, did a couple hours today got 1914 penny, thimble and pewter button, found it very hard going, will have to wait until ploughed, even with the big coil stuble left pretty long 7-8 inches. Grin Dave
