1/ Are you happy with your machine. What have you got

2/ If you had the cash would you get another one / Change it.

3/ What would you change it to and why?

i'd prefer another option - -working alongside experienced detectorists to help understand the subtleties of the machine!!

1/ Are you happy with your machine. What have you got

I've got a Garrett Ace 150 and so far it's done me well, so yes.

2/ If you had the cash would you get another one / Change it.

Yes, to see what a more expensive machine could do that mine can't.

3/ What would you change it to and why?

Not sure. I've heard Explorers are good, but everyone's got a different opinion on what's the best.

Hmmmm hard one for me, if we talking of the T2 then no im not happy yet I stress yet as i dont really know how to set it for different conditions, also if im honest the build quality leaves a lot to be desired but that is the trade off for weight i suppose.
Would I change it yes and prob go for the f75 ltd.
Of course after a few more outings and getting used to it all this will prob change (except for the build quality).
With the SE am i happy with it yes
would i change it ? if i had the cash i would pay to have it modified to hipmount lol but wouldnt change it. Is that cheating ? lol

I'm very happy with my e-trac, after an initial rocky start when i thought i'd bitten off more than i could chew, me and the e-trac are good freinds

if i had some spare cash i'd love to try a Deus, just to get some speed on the rallies, you need to go slow to get the best of the E-trac, great on your own land when you  have time on your side, on a rally all you really want are hammered and the likes with a good target recovery speed, this is where i think a Deus may have the edge with the lack of weight.

If i was going to change my e-trac it would be for a light weight e-trac custom, plans are a foot Wink when its out of warranty, it's getting chopped Smiley

WELL WHERE DO I START.

explorers  and etrac im happy with but like others say it is slow on recovery although the etrac has improved a little on recovery.

laser hawkeye  good very light great for quick outings folds down small great pin point centre of coil . best used in all metal much superior depth. great machine but minelab goes out every time unless on extremely noisy sites.

whites surfmaster diver pulse  beach machine only good , don't use very often but it does work rather well ideal for surf when you just need to get to a point your other machine won't.
iron is the only downside really doesnt care about ground conditions no good for very thin gold chains or bracelets it ignores some .
great cheapish detector for the rain total waterproof being a diver to 200ft .

would i buy another of course i would fancy the fisher 75 or newer one, may get one soon.

old machine which are also spot on cscope 1220 nicknamed the buble and sqeak prefer the first grey box model for proper build and electronics but heavier and stupid design in comparison to new  full arm ones available new .
this will find stuff next to iron in sim setting by tone id this is super when in park working around the metal playground facilities winkles out the wanted coins next to the swings.
great starter but expect arm fatigue

I love my e trac the more i go out with it the better it becomes.there is only one problem with the machine is its stability on highly mineralised soil.cant use it to its full power and i am not comfortable with it unless i got it maxed out.
So for those conditions i may buy a xp goldmaxx power as a second machine.
a interesting post.

More than happy with it as I seem to find what everybody else finds.
I have a Minelab Quattro.
Have the cash burning a hole in the pocket already but am stuck between a E-Trac, Explorer SE Pro, T2 or a T2 Ltd Edition all with pluses and minuses but generally the four better machines allegedly available. As I gathered interest on expanding my collection they all shot up £200.00 in price and feel agreived at this. I am now leaning towards the SE Pro but will probably get a second hand one for over half the price of new and there are some fine examples available on a regular basis.

Happy?  yes, its a xp goldmaxx power and it dosnt seem to miss anything. (was useing to a c.scope 1220b, similar to use but xp is much better)

change it? no chance not eaven a Deus- to many buttons and things to go wrong.

what to and why? dosnt need answering........

But!!!! its totally hopeless on the beach, so i have a minelab explorer xs, as a back up/ beach machine(bought it broken and seams to work now after a few trips to maplins) Not sure weather im hapy with it yet as havnt actually used it outside.

1/ i'm happy with the Garrett Ace 150, at the moment it's producing some interesting finds.

2/ if i had the money, i would most probably buy a minelab or fisher.

3/ because of the extra depth i think.
